New Studio, New Clients
The new studio is done and I am currently working writing this from my new control desk. This has been an amazing process for me, I learned so much and feel very lucky to have a space to call my own. There were definitely times when I wondered if I would ever be done, and if anyone would still want to record when/if I was done! Big thanks to Matt Thompson, he is a heck of a musician and was crucial to the building process.
2010 is already proving to be busy for me, I am already booked for three projects and have a few that may end up working out as well. I have begun work on John Hull’s record, it is proving to be a project and I think you all will love the new songs he has in store for you. I have also begun work on an album for Kira, an up and coming Singer/Songwriter from San Diego…think Adele meets Rihanna. I am also slated to begin working on the next Lindsey Yung EP, I am so excited to have her back as she has become a good friend and might have a fouler mouth than me. (probably not)
In other news, I will be traveling to Germany in June. I have never been out of the country and am very excited to see all the wonderful scenes and try the local ales.
All in all the year is shaping up to be busy and fun, can’t wait for you all to hear what is going on in the new place!

Greg Laswell
What an amazing week I’ve had. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
My good friend Greg came into town, after being on the road for some time. He stayed at my place and played some poker with the guys on Friday night. It had been quite a while since we sat down for a game so it was a great treat and, as always, a hilarious time. Saturday evening I attended Greg’s show at the Casbah, where he was backed by a full band of incredible musicians. The response to his music was overwhelming and I was thoroughly impressed – though not surprised – by how absolutely amazing their live show has become. I was fortunate enough to be a part of some of his early tours, so I was eager to see how the live show had progressed. Well, it’s spectacular and you should slap yourself right in the mouth if you’ve ever passed up a chance to catch his show.
In related news, I will be leaving August 15th for Flagstaff, AZ where I’ll spend a week producing a few tracks on Greg’s new full-length album. I am honored and humbled he asked me to join him on this project. He’s been a mentor and an inspiration for my engineering/producing career and I’ve learned a great deal from him. Most importantly, he’s one of my very best friends and I can’t wait to work together again. I will be capturing video of the trip and recording process and keeping everyone updated.
Hope this message finds you well!

Brenda Xu
It always seems to happen that as one project finishes, another is just about to begin. Brenda Xu is scheduled to be in the studio with me in March, I am very excited to work on her first full length album. I will be engineering and producing this record, I may also be offering interpretive dancing to some of her tracks.
Stay tuned for updates, this one is gonna go fast!

Mixing Kim DiVine
We did live drums on three tracks for this album, they are sounding amazing thanks to Mr. Dirty Buck. (Bill Driskill)
I have begun the final mix-down phase and am very happy so far. We may or may not add another song Kim wrote while down here this weekend, it is a very good one and I think would be a perfect final addition to her record. Finishing up a record is always bittersweet, there is so much time, emotion, love and energy that goes into it. While we wind down, and marking the new year, I am happy to say it is one I am VERY proud of and I think will get her some attention from labels and publishing scouts.
I am also almost done with mixing Fictional, I am eagerly awaiting for others to hear the first full on rock record to come out of the studio! Look out for John and Wes, they are some bad Mother Truckers!
Best to all!

Two of my clients will be releasing Christmas songs, they are almost completed and were a lot of fun to do! I hope this time finds you well with you and yours, check back soon for some Christmas music from some local artists!
Cheers!

I should be in bed…
I know it is way too late to be up, I know I will pay for it in the morning. (Time for a coffee run)
I had come down with something that will be named “the demon”. The demon decided to ruin three days of my life and leave me sick in bed and unable to do anything constructive…however, I won. Today is the first day in a few that I have felt well and I am getting stuff done, it feels good.
That’s all.
